Ringing in the New Year
2008 has almost come to an end. It was certainly a memorable year for us. We made new friends, settled into our own place, lost a loved one, traveled to new places, strengthened relationships, and welcomed the birth of our son. Our last night of 2008 will be spent at home. We will be enjoying some family favorites: shrimp cocktail, boursin atop french bread, chips and dip, ginger ale, and molasses crinkles. Happy New Year everyone!

Home for Christmas
Van and I arrived safely in Salt Lake City last night. This morning we woke up to fresh blanket of white snow. It feels so nice to be home for Christmas. The last time I was here was three years ago when Spencer and I were married. We look forward to Spencer joining us on Saturday for all of the family togetherness and holiday festivities.

Today
Today Van pushed himself up onto his elbows and knees with the intent to move. However, all he could figure out was how to rock back and forth.

I Heart Picasa
I recently updated to Picasa 3 and I'm thrilled with the new features. They now have a retouching tool, a text function, and an enhanced collage section. So much fun. Who needs PhotoShop when there's Picasa? Check it out.

Shout Out
When we were in Utah mid October, I arranged to have Van's pictures taken by my talented friend Katie Dudley. Van had just turned three months old. Katie took beautiful pictures and these are some of my favorites. I love the way she was able to capture so many of his different expressions. I recently received some prints in the mail and can't wait to get them framed. If only she didn't live in Philadelphia, then I would be able to have her take Van's sixth month shots. Thank again Kate, they're lovely.
