We're Back

Van and I arrived late last night from our little trip to San Francisco. We had a wonderful time with Bille and Mike. Now we're home and are trying to catch up on our sleep!

Mushrooms

When fall arrived in Washington so did the mushrooms. They've been sprouting up like crazy in our backyard. There are so many different varieties. Spencer's pretty sure that some our edible. If only we knew which ones.

Another Goodie

We absolutely love our Woobee blanket. Our good friends, Wade and Ellie, purchased it for us before Van was born. Ever since we started running we've been using it like crazy. It's perfect! It keeps Van warm and dry. Thanks for the awesome blanket guys!

Addiction

I keep making tuna fish sandwiches for lunch or for snacks. Gross, I know. But I can't get enough of them. It's so weird.

Growth Spurt?

Van's eating and sleeping schedule is so crazy right now. He seems to be wanting to eat more often; even during the wee hours of the morning. Last night he ate at 12:30, 2:30 and 5:30. It's like we're in the newborn phase again. I'm running on hardly any sleep and it's exhausting. Am I just giving into his cries or is he really hungry?

3 Months

Today Van is three months old. To me, he is the best kid in the whole world. He's strong, happy, expressive, smart, snugly, and playful. Plus, he has a smile that could light up a whole room.

Utah Holiday

Van and I left Seattle on Wednesday evening for our trip to Salt Lake City. Unfortunately, Spencer had to stay back and focus on work. It was little Van's first experience on an airplane and he did marvelously well. He mostly slept. We spent the first couple days playing at my parents house and running errands before the upcoming wedding.
On Saturday Sydnee and Kenny were married in the Salt Lake Temple. I left Van with my parents for a few hours in the afternoon so that I could attend the ceremony. The reception was held at the Holladay City Hall later that evening and it was a beautiful event. As usual, Van did wonderfully. A good chunk of his time was spent with Marcie, to whom I am extremely grateful. On Sunday we were able to get the family together and celebrate my Dad's sixty-first birthday. Van was able to "play" with his cousin Syd, and met his aunt Kim for the first time. Later that evening we went to visit with our Grandma's, aunts, uncles, and cousins. It was a wonderful trip, the time flew by, but we're glad to be back home.

Brown Bear, Brown Bear

I've started reading some of our books to Van. Whenever I read Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? he gets so excited and starts to laugh. It's really adorable.

Bumbostic

Van has started trying out his new Bumbo. These little chairs are just so fabulous. Thanks James and Tracy for the wonderful gift.

Why?

Why isn't The Office on?

On Demand Discovery

I just discovered Comcast On Demand Kids - Baby Boost. It offers complimentary shows for babies. The shows are supposed to teach the child things like nursery rhymes, sights & sounds, the four seasons, and even French. There are eleven channels to choose from. It's awesome.

No Dairy

No change. Day 5. Soy milk not that bad.
