We were driving home from swim lessons and he said, "Eat, I want hockey. I hockey." Hockey equals hungry apparently.

I Want Hockey
For the last several days Van has been saying "Hockey, I want hockey" and I haven't been able to figure out what he means, until today.

One Last Hoorah
Van and I took a quick trip to Utah last week to visit family. We wanted to take advantage of a free ticket before he turns two next month. While we were there we did lots of fun things.
Driving Grandpa's jeep.
Play date with girl cousins.Carnival rides at Jungle Jim's.
World Cup soccer with the big boys.
On safari at the Hogle Zoo.
Swimming at the Goddard's Pool.

Memorial Day Weekend
For months we had been planning a camping trip for the May long weekend. Tracy found us a great site at Fort Camping on Brae Island. Despite the soggy forecast we decided to go anyway. Saturday was wet, but the kids didn't seem to mind.
James had prepared tin foil dinners for all of us that night. And foiled they were. No worries, we had yummy s'mores to help us forget all about the rock hard hamburger patties.Van was very curious at the campsite and took advantage of the opportunity to explore. He splashed through puddles, played with sticks, threw rocks, and tramped through the mud.Sunday morning the kids woke up bright and early. Breakfast was a treat; the traditional Kellogg's Fun Pack cereal. Afterwards we played bocce ball and the kids were invited to test drive a tractor.
That afternoon we had brunch at the Beatniks Bistro in Fort Langley and strolled around the downtown core. Soon it was nap time and we headed back to camp. When Van woke up he got to try out the go-karts James and Tracy had rented for the kids.
Monday morning we woke up to a downpour and quickly packed up camp. We were lucky to be minutes from Spencer's parents house in Langley, which is where we spent the afternoon. A quick trip to Captain Kid's, two hours at the border, and we were finally home.
