To Our Mother's

Shirley: You are happy, unwearying, charitable, and creative.Kathy: You are friendly, hard working, supportive, and giving.
Happy Mother's Day to you both. We love you!

From a Mother

I love being a mom. I love being a mom to my two boys. They are everything. Today I love that Van has such a strong desire to learn. He's like a sponge, just soaking it all in. And as for Gus, I love the way his cheeks get all rosy when he wakes from a nap or has just finished nursing. Thank you Spencer for giving me the gift of motherhood, it is such a blessing to my life.

Mother's Day

Here are a couple of Mother's Day ideas that I've seen out there and absolutely loved. The adorable checklist from Ambrosia Girl I first saw here. And the bacon, egg, and toast cups are from Martha. Here's the recipe. Yum!

Note to Self

A diet consisting of burritos for lunch and chili for dinner makes for one grumpy Gus. He was waking up all night!

Favorite Calendar

I really love my Real Simple calendar from Target. Things that make it so perfect: undated grids with lines, considerably large squares, and movable color-coded labels. I've been using it for the last 18 months and was excited to see that it's still available this year. I also like their to-buy and to-do notepad.

Ellie's Zoo Party

Over the weekend I helped my sister put together a birthday party for her daughter, Ellery, who was turning two. She had wanted to go to the Hogle Zoo, but due to some temperamental weather, the plans were changed to Kangaroo Zoo. Afterwards we went to my parents place for dinner and gifts. The spread was "a la zoo" which included hot dogs, shelled peanuts, over sized pretzels, kettle corn, and salt water taffy. The party favors were animal crackers in polka-dot bags, tied off with ric-rac.
Ellie was showered with gifts and enjoyed every minute of it. The girls' Gramdma even brought a book for both Van and Sydnee, which was so thoughtful. And of course there was Gus, who was the hit of the party.
