St. Patrick's Day

When I was little my mom would always treat us with a visit from the leprechauns on St. Patrick's Day. It was one of my favorite traditions; I always looked forward to the bucket of green goodies. This year, the leprechauns visited our house too!

Kitchen

This is our kitchen. As you can see, it adjoins the family room. It's rather large and really clean. For the most part I am completely satisfied with it.

Eventually, I would like to replace the fixture with a pendant lamp and I've been eyeing these chairs for a while now. I think they'd work perfectly.

I'm not a fan of the curtains, however, the only idea we've come up with is to go with venetian blinds. Any thoughts?

Kelsey Creek Farm

Last Saturday was a beautiful day here in the Pacific Northwest. James and Tracy brought the kids down to visit us for the weekend and we spent Saturday morning walking around Kelsey Creek Farm. It was a lovely visit, that is until most of us were plagued with the dreaded stomach flu. Oh, the agony!

Family Room

Here is a shot of our family room. I picked up the Jorun rug last week and we're trying to decide if it's a keeper. While I love the zig-zag pattern, it's a bit darker than I had envisioned.

We definitely need a TV solution, something shallower and preferably mountable. I'd also like to either paint the mantle white, or get a new shelf all together.

New curtains are a must. I'll probably stick with a neutral, but having some that reach the floor will make all the difference.

I'm planning on recovering our Stockholm chair with a cover from Bemz, but I don't know what color to go with. The chair will be placed by the sofa, along with a coffee table.

Any suggestions?

Two

Resolution number two, run the second annual Rock 'N' Roll Seattle half marathon. We signed up over the weekend . . . let the training begin. Remember last years race?

Visitors

My mom and brother, Nick, came for a visit over the weekend. Highlights include the Seattle Aquarium, Gas Works Park, the Ballard Locks, Grass Lawn Park, the Seattle Center, and Pike Place Market.
