Swine Flu
According to the teen interviewee on Q13 Fox News, "In the airport there were women and children, but not really children, more like older people wearing SARS masks."

Welcoming Sleep
Van no longer needs his night feeding. He sleeps through the night. I sleep through the night. Huzzah!

Pacific Science Center
My sister-in-law Sharon and I took the kids to the Pacific Science Center yesterday afternoon. (They're in town helping out while Tracy's on bed rest). Edwin and Van were so excited to see each other again. We spent a lot of time playing in the Kids Works exhibit. Van climbed stairs, rode down the slide, played in tunnels, and dabbled at the stream table.
The Tropical Butterfly House was also a big hit; we spent a fair amount of time there as well. There was something so magical about wandering through a garden full of butterflies; so beautiful.

Waking up Canadian
On Friday, April 17th, a new law was passed in Canada that gives automatic citizenship to first generation children born abroad to a Canadian citizen. This means Van has been a Canadian since Friday and we didn't even know it. Click here to learn more about the new law. Maybe you or someone you know is Canadian too!

Nine Month Well Check
Weight: 16 pounds 9 ounces (3-10%). Height: 28 1/2 inches (50-75%). Head Circumference: 44.5 centimeters (25%).
Van's favorite things to do right now are cruising and mimicking sounds. He loves his walker and playing in the bathtub. We've started him on more table foods and he seems to be enjoying them. He's one determined boy and will try really hard to get what he wants. Whether that is Spencer's guitar, the toilet, charcoal in the fireplace, shoes in the closet, or the garbage can.

Easter Weekend
We were lucky enough to have my parents and my sister Kim come to visit for the weekend. Unfortunately we had pretty crummy weather; cool temperatures and a lot of rain.On Saturday morning we took Van to an Easter egg hunt put together by our friends Joie and Marilee. We had a great time visiting with friends and eating yummy food. I was able to snap a picture of Van and his friend Lily while we were there. My mom found these cute plaid pants for Van at the Gap and I used a Janie and Jack gift card to purchase the polo shirt and cap. The whole outfit was really adorable. Today we said goodbye to my family. It was nice having them visit; hopefully next time we will have better weather.

4.05.09
On Sunday we took a walk to the park to enjoy the warm weather. It felt nice to get out of the house after watching General Conference. Van enjoyed feeling the grass between his toes, cruising down the slide, and swinging with his daddy.

Juanita Beach Park
On Friday night we had Lucas, Sunny, and Tori over for a little slumber party. Tracy's been on bed rest and James had a race to run early Saturday morning so we offered to have the kids spend the night. On Saturday we took them to Juanita Beach Park for a little picnic. The weather, and the kids, were very cooperative.
