No Dairy
I've decided to go off dairy products for two weeks to see if Van becomes less gassy. It's only day two and it's a lot harder than I thought it would be. However, if it means he doesn't wake himself up at 3:00 a.m. trying to tute, and sleeps six straight hours than it will all be worth it.

Thank You Craigslist
Rainy Days
10 Weeks
Lately Van has been making a lot of bubbles and drool. He started rolling onto his right side and continues to coo and laugh. He enjoys being held upright and loves looking into the mirror. (I've even noticed that the mirror seems to calm him). He's incredibly strong; holding his head, pushing up with his arms during tummy time, and standing tall when assisted.

Picasa
A few people have asked me how I make my collages of Van. Well I'm happy to tell you that it's really quite easy. I use Picasa. I first noticed my friend Sylvie using it on her blog. All you have to do is upload your pictures to Picasa, click ctrl on the pictures you want, select the collage button, and voila!

Guilty Pleasure
I'm not really sure why I have been watching this show, but I have. Apparently I enjoy it because it has become one of the regulars. Something about it sucks me right in. Is it the kids? Is it Kate? Is it the raw footage? Perhaps I'll never know.
Why?
Why did Van sleep six hours straight on Tuesday and Wednesday night, and got up every two hours last night? Seriously.

Catching Up
My parents showed up last Thursday for a little visit and to participate in Van's blessing. It was my Dad's first time seeing Van.
My brother Tony was able to take some time off work and join in on the fun. He arrived early Saturday morning.
We were so grateful for the little outfit that my mom brought for Van's special day. He looked so cute and snugly. We had lots of support from Spencer's family as well. James and Tracy came down with the kids and Sarah came from Vancouver.
After all the guests had gone home, little Van went down for his nap. Tony joined him.Later that evening we decided to go to Kerry Park and watch the sunset on the great Seattle skyline; so beautiful. My parents went home Monday morning. So while Spencer worked, Tony and I took Van to the city. A couple of our stops were Gasworks Park and Pike Place Market. We were really glad Tony was able to stay a few days and hang out with us. He's a fabulous uncle.

This Morning...
I woke up to Van playing in his co-sleeper. He was kicking off the wall, making tutes, smiling, and cooing. It made me happy.

Labor Day Weekend
We took a much a needed vacation and went to Vernon for the weekend. On Thursday we attended the Interior Provincial Exhibition held in Armstrong, BC. The fair was full of farm animals, carnival games, rides, and yummy food.On Friday we headed to Ellison Park on Okanagan Lake. We were a bit hesitant because it was overcast. However, as soon as we arrived the sun was shining. It was nice to soak up some rays and enjoy the beautiful lake.
Saturday we went to Juniper Bay on Kalamalka Lake. Our initial plans were to go hiking because it was cloudy. But the weather cleared up, the sun came out, and Spencer got to water ski.Monday was a gorgeous day. We went back to Juniper for one final hoorah. The lake was beautiful; turquoise and crystal clear. Our little vacation turned out to be really, really great. We were able to spend time with family and take a break from our normal routine. Thanks to the Kilistoff's for taking care of us.
